About robota
A calm catalog for the robots in your life.
robota helps you choose robots the way you actually live — not from a wall of ads. We start with floor, lawn, pool, window, pet, patrol, toys, and an Other aisle for everything that does not fit yet, and we keep the list honest: real machines, clear prices, no accessory filler.
Each aisle has a buying guide. Not a spec war — what the machine actually does, what to match to your house or yard or pool, and which models to start with. The cards at the bottom of a guide are the same ones in the catalog, so the ribbons you see there are the real ones.
Prize ribbons are 2026 mentions from independent lists — Wirecutter, CNET, Bob Vila, RTINGS, and others. Each publication keeps the same color so you can learn the flags. Hover a ribbon for the name. Gold Highly rated is owners on Amazon: enough reviews that we can be confident the average sits clearly in the 4s — not a mixed 4.0, and not a handful of five-star unboxings. A list cannot grant it.
When you open a category, the order is not a raw star sort and it is not “whoever has the most flags.” Owner ratings count when enough people have actually reviewed the machine. Lists can nudge a close call; they cannot put a poorly rated robot at the top. Lists do not agree. That is the point.
Listings are curated. When something new lands from Amazon, we review it before it shows up here. Ask AI then recommends from that same catalog — a gift under $100, a mower for a small yard, a vacuum that deals with pet hair.
